How it Began
ABOUT
Mental Wealth Hawai‘i was created out of a genuine desire to serve the community with compassion, integrity, and thoughtful care. Christiana’s early work with children, adolescents, and families across home, school, and community settings offered her a deep appreciation for the real-life challenges people face—and the importance of meeting them with understanding and respect. Collaborating closely with the Department of Health and Department of Education, and later working in Hawai‘i’s only residential psychiatric hospital for youth, she gained valuable experience supporting individuals and families through complex emotional struggles, including trauma, crisis, and relational distress.
These experiences helped shape a relational, trauma-informed approach that values connection, collaboration, and cultural humility. What began as a solo practice with a focus on adult mental health naturally evolved into a group practice—grounded in the belief that healing is possible when people are given space to be fully seen, heard, and supported.
At Mental Wealth Hawai‘i, our mission is to provide holistic, client-centered care that honors the uniqueness of each person’s story. We’re a team of therapists who bring diverse backgrounds and clinical strengths, united by a shared commitment to offering thoughtful, inclusive, and responsive support.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. We believe in real, human connection—and in the strength that can come from exploring your inner world at your own pace, with someone by your side.
our values.
At Mental Wealth Hawai‘i, we approach our work with both clinical skill and personal understanding. Many of us come to this field not only with formal training, but also with lived experience—having navigated challenges like trauma, grief, acculturation, attachment wounds, anxiety, and loss. These experiences inform our ability to sit with others through their own struggles with humility, presence, and care. We show up as real people, grounded in authenticity and committed to building meaningful therapeutic relationships.
We believe that effective therapy is both evidence-based and deeply personalized. Our team is committed to using research-supported approaches tailored to each individual’s unique story and goals. These aren’t just techniques we’ve read about—they’re modalities in which we’ve received formal training and certification, practiced with intention and care.
We honor that no two clients are alike, and we approach our work with curiosity, cultural responsiveness, and a genuine respect for your lived experience. Ongoing growth and professional development are central to our values, allowing us to provide thoughtful, up-to-date care in a space that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering. Above all, we believe therapy should help you reconnect with your sense of self and possibility—and we’re here to walk alongside you, every step of the way.
